I had the evening to myself last night, which naturally included putting my hair into pin curls and watching America’s Next Top Model. Naturally. I was inspired over the summer to try my hand at pin curls via the most lady like woman I know, Jamie Beck. I followed my way to tutorials and tips and realized that the traditional, ridged bobby pins just won’t do! Finally a week or so ago I spotted the curved, smooth variation, and last night I tried it out.
A retro hairdo calls for a retro inspired outfit. For those of you pining to see a fashion week outfit, this is pretty close to what I wore on the second or third day. I love the green on green (I shameless copied it straight from the J. Crew catalogue) and the leopard accents feel so now. (But let’s be real, I’ve been obsessed with leopard ever since I bought my 1960s faux leopard coat four years ago!)
It’s totally about preference, but I think a leopard shoe is a little more classic in a lower heel height. Now that I think about it, I’m hoping I can track down a pair of leopard loafers or ballet flats too!
I really like this outfit. I definitely carry myself a bit differently in it as well. Just a little more graceful, a little more… ladylike.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! I’m taking my vacation next week, but have over 12 posts queued up and ready to go, so you won’t be missing a thing. And a hint… it’s all about Halloween.
