When it comes to Halloween, why buy your costume if you could make it (or better yet, pull it out of your own closet!)?? All week long I’ll share my ideas for inexpensive, homemade Halloween costumes. Enjoy!
Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away.
Maybe it’s the Pan Am show that’s airing this fall or just the notion of a very polished European flight attendant that gave me the idea for this costume. It’s another one that’s straight from my closet and super easy to re-create on your own.
Inspiration:

Key Elements:
- White Button Down Shirt
- Navy or Red Skirt
- Silk Neck Scarf
- Wing Pin
This costume was another freebie, thanks to the left over foam from another costume. Using a fine tip Sharpie marker, I drew a winged motif onto the foam, cut it out and used double sided tape to stick onto my blouse. If you saved your pilots wings from when you could visit the cockpit as a kid - kudos to you - those will work even better.
Other important elements - a slick, retro hairdo and classic makeup. Please prepare for departure.
Cost: $0
Difficulty Level: Easy
Time Commitment: 45 minutes or less (for hair and makeup)
