WhatIWore: The cherry on my fashion week was yesterday’s Oscar de la Renta show. First let’s just talk about how giddy and excited I get before this show. Like, literally nervous! I just love it so much. Right after I took my seat, I spied Sarah Jessica Parker, who is totally adorable. Then there’s all of the editors and stylists who are like celebs to me (Grace, Anna, Joe Zee). So the scene was set.
This time I was right next to the entrance of the runway and was in touching distance from the models. Loved the makeup (kelly green and turquoise eye shadow) and extra large (I mean, really huge!) buns. I also loved how some of the models looks so happy they had to swallow their smiles before they stepped onto the main runway. For example, Coco Rocha is the cutest thing ever.
Now, let’s talk about some of my favorites:
1. Shibori silks. A special Japanese technique of folding and dip dying the fabric… I love the very 60’s Jackie O quality to the suits in this fabric and REALLY love the tulip skirt silhouette on the dress.
2. Black Sequins and tulle. All I could think about when I saw these gowns was I wish I had a place to wear a dress like that!
3. Colorful ball gowns. Often times when you hear someone say “tailored” you think suiting or menswear. But the fit and tailoring of these candy colored gowns is perfect too. Pink! Tomato Orange! Chartreuse! Love them all.
