Why: Doesn’t this dress look like something Margot Tenenbaum would wear? With the release of Moonrise Kingdom, another Wes Andersen flick, coming out this weekend, I’ve been inspired to get into character. I found this vintage dress at Cactus Flower last summer and instantly thought it would be something a sporty, chic woman would wear in the 1970s.
Speaking of the seventies… I always feel like I look like my mom when I part my hair in the center. I mean, I REALLY resemble my mom all of the time, but I kind of like looking like her when she was in her twenties. Have you ever looked in the mirror and been surprised by how much you’re starting to resemble a parent? My mom laughed at me the other day when I told her I did 8 hours of housework and loved it. I really AM becoming my mother!
Like yesterday’s dress, I think this one would pair well with a pop of color like red, yellow or pink, but option to just keep it tonal today. I think my interior decorating and closet are beginning to really sync up. I’m doing a lot of black and white in my house and it’s totally reflected in my wardrobe (like this and this last week). What can I say? When I like something… I REALLY like it!
