WhatIWore: Today we’re taking on one dress, styled two different ways. On the left, I’ve collaged up what I’d wear with this flirty little leopard dress (here’s another version with a peplum and a little more length), while on the right is how my assistant Sheri has styled it up. We hope you love the two different perspectives!
Jessica’s Take: While I often style leopard as a neutral, this time I wanted the dress to be center stage. I’d layer the dress over the turtleneck for warmth, then top it with a vintage looking costume necklace. To add color to this look, I’ve added my current color crush: burgundy (or maroon, oxblood, cranberry…) Finally, a sleek handbag and rubber heeled booties finished it all off!
Elements: Hat, Turtleneck, Necklace, Handbag, Tights, Boots
Sheri’s Take: Being a college student, my invitations to functions that require formal dresses are few and far in between. Rather than omit formality from my wardrobe all together, I opt to make formal dresses–like the one above–more casual by layering them under a chambray shirt and pairing them with my latest obsession, studded ankle boots. Then all you have to add is a little sparkle with a cute cuff and a spacious backpack to carry lots of lipsticks studious materials.
