Why: This outfit all started with my new vest which I bought after styling it for the Canvas Arrivals campaign I debuted last week. I’ve had a form fitting tweed vest on my list for a long, long time. I even have a pattern and fabric sitting in the depths of my sewing closet, but when I tried this one on, I knew it would be a great addition to my closet.  I wanted to try something different than the chambray I styled it with originally and played around with a variety of button down shirts this morning before finally settling on this polka dot number. 

A vest and collared button down could be fine on their own, but I used some Boardwalk Empire inspiration and added a blazer over the top. To keep it casual I finished it off with my go-to dark denim skinny (but not too tight) jeans, black wedges and bright red lipstick.

But enough about my outfit… It’s Election Day in the US!! I can’t wait to get to the polls this afternoon! I hope you exercise your voting rights and get to the ballot box as well!
