Why: Another winter day, another cold morning! I’m layering up on the warmth and the texture in today’s look, although I know someone is going to point out those bare ankles! While I was chilly on my 2 minute walk from the car to the office, I also did a mental ranking of most important to least important body parts for optimal comfort. My ankles don’t really bother me that much. Not as much as my fingers or ears (I usually wear a hat and gloves if I’m outside longer than 5 minutes and especially for extended periods of time). So yea.
Let’s talk a little bit about layering textures. I love different elements together in one outfit. Something shiny, something rugged, some faux fur or a chunky knit. As I pulled together the additional outfits you might like related to this post, I saw that I do this quite often! Keep this in mind for your own outfits as the winter rolls along. With so much spring merchandise already in stores, I try to get creative with how I’m going to put together WINTER outfits. Hear that retailers? Vacations aside, I’m not ready to see neon yellow or lightweight chiffon blouses just yet.
