Why:
Oh! So many things to talk about in this outfit, which is almost entirely new! I’ve mentioned this before, but I just love a new outfit, and being my first day in the studio this Spring, why not?

I was in Fort Wayne over the weekend visiting my parents and brother and my mom and I did a lot of Spring shopping. We actually ended up both getting this jacket and top (admittedly, she picked them out first and then I went back to the respective stores to get them as well).  It was a fun flash back to the days my mom and I used to go shopping together when I was in high school.

My pants are new too and I made them! They are the same pattern as my red trousers and I feel so 70s in them!  I used a light weight denim because I wanted them to be really drapey and casual (and not as stiff as some of the wide leg denim I’ve been seeing in the market). I love the way they turned out!

I love my accessories today as well and I think they really pull everything together.  I picked up this men’s watch at Target over my weekend shopping spree.  It reminds me of the kind of thing a Victorian colonist would wear. I also belted my shirt under my jacket, which I felt brought some waist definition, but still kept the outfit casual.

So what do you think?!
