Why: I’m totally on a sewing kick right now. Last week I was browsing the aisles of the fabric store for clearance winter fabrics and fell in love with this stripe. Initially I planned on doing all horizontal stripes, but at the last minute I opted to engineer them to show off the fullness of this dirndl.
Speaking of a dirndl - it’s my favorite easy, pattern free skirt to whip up. I bought a yard and a half of fabric and I would have done it a wee bit fuller if I could have. To bring out a swingy hem, I used horsehair trim to give it a pretty ripple. I can’t tell you how happy I am with this project! And I did it all in a day (although I was up way late getting it done).
I really like how this outfit came together too. I’m calling this post Fashion Blogger because I’m playing with elements of my way olden days of What I Wore (whoa flashback!) along with a trend I’m trying for the first time (shirt buttoned all the way up, layered sweater and short statement necklace).
