Why: I’ll probably talk about this a lot in the next few weeks, but it’s always the last stretch of the season that gives me the biggest challenge when getting dressed. Over the weekend I did a big haul at the outlet malls (Hello, J.Crew factory!), loading up on stripes, brights, whites, seersucker, cropped pants and light weight tops… but it’s still 28 degrees out when I leave for work. I’m working on transitioning out of my heavier winter stuff and into those pretty spring colors by pairing them with darker, warmer basics like blazers and moto jackets. I’ll probably keep tights in rotation as long as need be, but I want to go bare legged so bad (without freezing my tail off).
Another thought? If you can’t wear your spring clothes yet, you can still go with a pretty pastel manicure. I’m totally digging the Mint Candy Apple by Essie (see a better pic here) with a little layer of gold glitter on my ring fingers. I see opal whites, pale yellows and lavenders in my future too!
