WhatIWore: My favorite DIY projects come from raiding your closet/craft box and coming up with something from what you already have on hand. Here’s a great example!

To make this flossy bangle, you’ll need:
SUPPLIES:
- 4+ different colors of floss
- 3 skeins of black floss
- Old bangle
- Black Electrical Tape

Cover your bangle with electrical tape - not only does this give you a solid base color, but the texture of the tape allows the floss to grip better to the surface of the bracelet and not slide around.

Next cut your colored floss. You’ll want to make sure it’s long enough (plus extra) to completely loop your bangle. For wider color blocks, cut more strands of a single color. I used about 7 lengths (14” give or take) of each color.

Now you’ll tape your floss evenly and smoothly to your bracelet. It’s important that the threads all lay flat here!

From the inside of the bangle, tape your black floss down and start winding it through the center of the bracelet and around. I started with a thick band of solid black to color the electrical tape.

Now the fun part! You’ll want to establish a pattern with your colors. To do so, just omit (or pull back) one color (or two) from the winding process. Here’s a little video of the weaving in process.
Once you have completely covered your bangle, you’ll need to create a clean finish. I cut the remaining strands of colored floss off and taped them down, then wrapped black floss over that tape. Finally, I wove the excess black floss to the inside of the bangle.

And voila! A one-of-a-kind, free Sunday project that only took a couple hours to complete!
