Why:
This is the last official set of photos Adam and I took for the MYNY project. Truth be told, it wasn’t actually raining, it was sort of a wintery mix, but I was determined to make things feel as springy as possible. How touristy am I with my NYC subway umbrella? I love maps and I love this brelly too! When I first moved to New York I was so flattered when someone would ask me for directions… I have a feeling it might happen more often toting this thing around.
Also, I need to address something - my serious love for navy/black and white stripes. I actually bought my first nautical sweater in 2005 at Zara and then a boat neck stripey guy a few years ago (which I wear all the time)… and this blouse… gush. Could not help myself. Although, I have totally cut myself and NO MORE STRIPEY SHIRTS (over Christmas I bought 2 at Plato’s Closet in Indiana plus my white black and white from Shopmamie). So that’s 6 and I’m done!
And this bag - it’s so lovely, but I knew when I picked it out that I was going to send it off to my mom as a gift. I have the kind of mom that always put her kids first and although she is one chic woman, she’ll use the same handbag for years and years. I felt so happy to send it to her. She called me the next day to let me know she took it out to the grocery store and almost felt like chaining it to the cart! I am so grateful my parents passed on their spirit of enthusiastic gratitude to me for little and big things alike.
