Why:
This outfit is sort of an average budget girl’s ode to Miu Miu collars and Prada skirts. Well, this skirt is clearly a knock off of Prada Resort from a couple of years ago and the collar of the blouse reminds me of this season’s uber popular Miu Miu styles. Yes, it might be better if there was a cat or person print all over and some rhinestones, but alas, I live in Brooklyn and got more than enough weird looks for this ensemble on it’s own. No matter! I love it!
I’ve had a couple of questions concerning backcombing. If you want a 60s style beehive, you need a fine tooth comb and some Aqua Net. Just hold your hair straight up and comb against the grain in sections where you want your bump. This may or may not damage your hair. Mine is really fine so if I don’t put some spritz in it, it’ll fall flat fast. Say that ten times! Anyway, once you’ve got a big rat’s nest of backcombing, smooth over the top, pull into a half pony, use a little clear elastic and hike that baby up with a couple of bobby pins. As with all great things in life, practice makes perfect.
