When: July 26, 2013
Where: Picnic at the Park
Why: I bought this dress during one of ModCloth’s big sales and have been saving it for a picnic at the park. I love the vintage vibe, bright pinks and red (which I don’t have nearly enough of in my closet!) and the unusual neckline.
The dress came with a thick black belt, but I prefer a skinnier style and just swapped with what I already had in my closet.
Heels are fun with retro dresses, but just didn’t make sense for being out in the grass at the park, which is why I pulled out my trusty black flats. I actually think they balance the black details on the dress nicely.
Plus… I made another pie! I learned how to bake them from scratch using my grandmother’s recipe under the guidance of my Aunt Barb and now I just can’t stop! I’m on a mission to document the first one hundred and I’m on number four right now. If you’re interested I’m instagramming them with the hashtag #jessicas100pies. I’ve been baking them with traditional ingredients thus far but I’m excited to try some new paleo variations in the coming weeks. Adam and I are doing a little diet reboot and doing a Whole14, so we’ll see what I can do with dates, nuts and coconut milk!
