After posting days of French style, I wanted to rock some total Americana. The denim on denim look was inspired by my friend/fellow blogger Erin. First, let’s talk about denim on denim (aka - the Jean Suit). Yes, it can be done wrong so many ways. The key to making this look work is to pick two different shades of denim - they can’t be too similar or it looks weird. I also think the proportion of the jeans should be very slim with a larger shape on top. Or conversely a full dark, lightweight denim skirt with a sandblasted jean jacket would be awesome. So there ya go. Those are my thoughts on denim on denim. (Here’s how I wore the look last year)
But there was another motive behind this monocromatic ensemble - to debut my favorite purchase from Paris. I love buying handbags abroad - You can always answer a query or compliment with “I got it in Hong Kong! Paris! London!” and you always get to carry around the memories of a good trip. I went with this shade of Cafe Creme (fitting, non?) because it’s unlike anything else in my closet and I love the shape as well!
