WhatIWore: I’m a huge fan of Sarah from Chalkboard Nails and we’ve recently partnered up to take inspiration from past What I Wore looks and make them into amazing manicures. When Sarah sent these photos over my jaw dropped! I love her work and can’t wait to show you more inspired nail art in our four part collaboration!

WhatIWore: For the past few weeks I’ve been falling fast into the world of nail art. It was Sarah, from CHALKBOARDNAILS who caught my attention and answered some of my early questions. I asked her if she’d be up for a collaboration and this is the manicure she created based off a past What I Wore ensemble. Pretty amazing, no?
Here’s what Sarah says about this nail art:
The stripes were done with a tape manicure technique. It involves painting a base color, letting it dry completely, and blocking off part of the nail with tape (I use Scotch brand Satin Tape). You paint over the tape, and then when you peel the tape off, your base color is left untouched where the tape was blocking it!
The leopard nails were freehanded. I started with my base color, and then added on evenly spaced splotches of the darker tan color. Then, using a dotting tool, I added in the black markings around the tan splotches.
