Why:
I wasn’t going to try or take a photo today, but after reading a lovely morning e-mail filled with nice compliments I thought I might as well wear something colorful. I love how the blouse and sweater sort of, but don’t quite totally match here. Jeans are a Friday/Tired-Day must for me, especially when I’m leaving the house in sub freezing temps. But I’m happy with today’s look. And I’m loving the neck scarves lately.

I hate the gloomies!! That feeling you get when you wake up, realize you definitely have a caffeine addiction (re: headache), you think you either got up too early or that its just not going to bed sunny today and… well, those are the gloomies. A general sadness fills the air too. I guess nearly all black is fitting for the day.

Why:
After watching the debate last night, I felt really political and feel the need to start dressing the part more often leading up until the election. I started to make myself an Obama tee shirt (the one I ordered is on backorder) but thought I can look patriotic without screaming everyday. So I’m wearing this scarf in honor of being an American and plus I love it. Ya know, my fashion explainations aren’t always the best, but when you feel it, you’ve gotta go with it. The wide leg jeans give the look a 70’s vibe and its about time I re-watch Love Story. Today I am also crossing the taboo by wearing navy and black together.
What I Wore: Love Story

WhatIWore:
When:
October 6, 2008
What:
Blouse: Etsy
Jacket: Target
Belt: Lucky (free from work)
Skirt: H&M
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: E-bay
Bracelet: Mom’s
Where:
Work
Why:
Today I am totally digging on the Love Story vibe. My new wool blend short peacoat (from Target!) was the starting point as well as the plaid shirt. Not sure if I would wear these dark rust tights again, maybe navy or something a little more subdude next time. I definitely felt like a school girl on my way to work, but I like the brights. Accessory wise, just mom’s old charm bracelet. All in all, a nice, crisp, fall day to be in love.
What I Wore: Casual Friday

WhatIWore:
When:
October 3, 2008
What:
Headband: Target 3 pack
Scarf: gift
Blazer: gift
Tee (hidden): Hane’s V-Neck, 3 pack
Jeans: Acne (thrifted)
Flats: Target
Where:
Work
Why:
I told my co-workers I would be making the most of casual Friday, and here’s what I did—
- Hair up and back. Barely blowdryed. Whatever
- Nothing says casual like a Hane’s T with a stain on it (no, kidding).
- Jeans
- Flats
What I Wore:
When:
September 18, 2008
What:
Shades: F21
Blouse: Maven Haven Vintage
Cardigan: Heirloom from my gramma
Belt: Goodwill
Jeans: River Island (but free from work!)
Shoes: Clarks
Where:
Office
Why:
Finally there’s a chill in the air and a need for a light cardigan on the way to work. Everything morphs from my original intentions in the morning. I started wearing this blouse with its matching necktie, then moved it to the waist and finally dropped it altogether in favor of a leather belt to match my shoes. And went through 3 pairs of jeans before deciding these would work. Those new shoes from yesterday really need to get broken in before I try to wear them for an entire day again. I’m thinking flats to the train, switch to the fancy shoes for the office and back again to something more comfortable for my 1/2 mile trek back to my apartment. I’m on the lookout for some more tights, which are perfect for chilly mornings and getting the most out of your late summer dresses.
