Why:
When I was a little girl, my mom would always make me a new Easter dress. A week or so ago I saw this vintage inspired frock, and it instantly reminded me of a mom-made creation from years past and l like having a new dress for our family get togethers. Between the massive storms that have been rolling through Southern Indiana (and the entire Midwest), Adam and I found a pretty spot on in front of a pretty house on the Ohio River in Newburg, Indiana for our snaps.
I felt lovely, but those teeny tiny waists will get to you by the day’s end! Shhh… don’t tell anyone that I unzipped that side seam for the drive home. ;)

Why:
I’m really happy with the way this outfit came together. First off, yes, I’m wearing white jeans before Memorial Day and no, I don’t think it’s a fashion crime! It’s April and it’s sunny! (Generally I would suggest to save them for cloudless Spring/Summer days and warm weather or otherwise opt for a creamier shade of winter white). I also really like the light layering on top with a swapped long silk scarf, printed tee shirt and spring weight jacket.

Why:
After playing up the boyish side of my closet the past few days, I did a 180 and went for a decidedly ladylike outfit today. It’s a tricky time of year for me. I’ve packed away all of my heavier (and warmer!) clothing to make way for cotton dresses and summer skirts, so on cold ones like today (it was 28 degrees when we left the house this morning), I need something light in feeling, but warm in reality. The sheerness of this blouse definitely gives the entire outfit that airy feeling, but thick opaque tights provide the warmth. Combined with a winter coat, I’m good to go!
