Memorial Day + Meeting the Parents
WhatIWore: This time tomorrow I will be en route to Indiana to enjoy Memorial Day weekend and meet my boyfriend’s family for the first time. Two very exciting things! I’ve started to lay out my outfits for the weekend. I think I dress pretty parent appropriate (wouldn’t you say Mom and Dad?) so I’m just focusing on fun, bright colors and layers.
I’m wondering if you guys have any input? What did you wear to meet your boyfriend’s parents for the first time?
Shoe Wish List: SOLVED!!
- Black wedges I can wear with tights - Try a department store’s sale rack
- Gold ballet flats - wait if you can on these or check the sale racks
- Black riding boots - thrift these (so many great 80s styles that look current)
- Brown mary jane’s with a stacked heel - DSW
Other fashion wish list items are:
- Skinny jeans to tuck into boots - Express has the best inexpensive pair of skinnies I’ve purchased and are good with sales ($60)
- A few knit sweater dresses to layer for winter - try Old Navy ($25-$30)
- Long warm-toned cardigan to layer (maroon or deep purple, I think) -I love the two I bought from Zara ($30)
The only catch is I’ve put myself on a very tight budget so I’m going to have to thrift these babies or find them on MAJOR sale!!
Kelly- not sure if your list is in order of what you want most, but on a budget, I would pick the things you REALLY want and devote more money to that. Check out stores like Target, Old Navy, H&M, Marshall’s and TJMaxx. I’d rather see you skip an item completely, than just buy something junky so you can cross it off your list.
