What I Wore: Punching it Up

WhatIWore:
When:
February 17, 2009
What:
Dress: H&M, thrifted
Sweater: vintage, thrifted
Belt: vintage, thrifted
Tights: Marshall’s
Boots: Gift
Where:
Work
Why:
This week I’m injecting a lot more color into my wardrobe. Honestly, this is a hard time of year to get dressed. We all have spring fever and heavy dark fabrics are sort of over in my mind. That said, we have to stay warm!! I love this dress and I like the sort of “funky-1980’s-guidence-counselor” look I have going on. I can’t wait to take pictures outside all of the time again!! Yesterday’s look required little to no adjustments and all of these indoor photos = not so pretty until I edit them. Oh well, she shall come soon enough.
What I Wore: Getting Snuggly

WhatIWore:
When:
October 2, 2008
What:
Shades: HK
Cardigan: Zara
Self: Jessica Schroeder Designs (ha!)
Belt: Lucky (free from work)
Tights: Target
Boots: Banana
Scarf: thrifted
Where:
Work
Why:
Today I’m putting together a bunch of colors that usually work as neutrals to other outfits— navy, gray, and brown. It was chillier than it has been this morning, so I felt like a warm and snuggly fall outfit. The dress is a heavy jersey (I made it last winter) and the tights are fuzzy and ribbed. The cardigan is enough to be warm, but not hot to make me sweaty on the walk to the subway. These boots are longing to be loved- so, here they are.

WhatIWore:
When:
September 29, 2008
What:
Shades: Warhol Museum
Necklace: Macys?
Edie Sedgwick Tee: Warhol Museum
Skirt: vintage, thrifted and hemmed
Tights: We Love Colors
Flats: Target
Where:
Work and Lunch in the Park
Why:
This weekend I did a roadtrip to Pittsburgh, PA for a wedding, but made some time to visit The Warhol Museum featuring over 500 pieces of the artist’s work. I’m not a fan of cheesey souvenirs, but musuem shops are better than the rest. I couldn’t help picking up these “Jackie” shades, Edie Sedgwick screen printed tee, a book and a magnet. A short skirt and flats add to the 60s vibe. And reddish orange tights? Why not!

WhatIWore:
When:
September 22, 2008
What:
Scarf: oldie but goodie
Dress: H&M
Belt: Flea Market
Leggings: Target
Booties: Payless
Ring: mom’s
Where:
Work, meeting
Why:
Its the first day of fall and tights are the name of the game. I’ve actually bought a few pairs of leggings recently (no full footie tights in the colors I wanted) and wear them tucked under my heel. I think I may actually prefer not having my toes all sweatied up by tights. Also, loving this easy knit dress from H&M and keeping it tonal with the tights. My mom’s purple cocktail ring (love it!) also in the same color story. For the chill in the air, my go to black scarf. The belt shouldn’t work, but it does (to wear at the natural waist, I move the metal tongue to the side and then wrap excess belt to keep her nicely in place). Happy Equinox!
What I Wore
When:
Sept 19, 2008
What:
Shades: HK
Tank: Mossimo
Cardigan: Zara
Belt: Goodwill
Jeans: Acne (thrifted)
Bag: HK
Boots: Banana Republic
Where:
Office, Lunchtime Shopping
Why:
Just bought this cardigan and Zara yesterday and its perfect for this kind of weather, a little chilly, but still warm enough to work up a sweat in the sun. Added jeans to the mix to keep is casual and so happy to bring back my favorite fall/winter boots (3 years old and 2 new soles). The belt pulls the look together. And boy am I happy this is what I wore today…
