WhatIWore: Lately I’ve realized that I’ve wanted to be a stylist all along. Maybe not the editorial variety (or maybe so!), but at least the kind of person that can consult with other woman and find the best possible combinations of what they have in their closets.  Today I was putting together some looks and just liked how the rack looked so took a few snaps. I love playing with my clothes.

When:

February 5, 2009

What:

Mysterious Black Scarf
Black T Neck: free from work
Skirt: Marshall’s
Tights: We Love Colors
Booties: Payless

Where:

Work

Why:

In an attempt to both stretch my wardrobe and conjure up warmer temperatures, I’m wearing a spring skirt with the winter fixins. Tights, t-neck and a scarf, all in black, help ground the look and add a little warmth. Seriously though, 12F degrees really is too cold for something like this. I wanted to feel pretty, but I’ve learned my lesson. Next time we dip this low its back to the thigh high socks and jeans routine.

October 2, 2008

What:

Shades: HK
Cardigan: Zara
Self: Jessica Schroeder Designs (ha!)
Belt: Lucky (free from work)
Tights: Target
Boots: Banana
Scarf: thrifted

Where:

Work

Why:

Today I’m putting together a bunch of colors that usually work as neutrals to other outfits— navy, gray, and brown. It was chillier than it has been this morning, so I felt like a warm and snuggly fall outfit. The dress is a heavy jersey (I made it last winter) and the tights are fuzzy and ribbed. The cardigan is enough to be warm, but not hot to make me sweaty on the walk to the subway. These boots are longing to be loved- so, here they are.

If you feel the need to get your closet in shape (or just do a better job at remembering what you have), I totally suggest checking out weardrobe.com. As you upload photos, you can create a virtual shelf holding each item.  You can also look at fellow fashionistas clothes/closets for great inspiration and ideas.
And I’m featured on the front page! Woo! check it out.

What I Wore:
When:
August 21, 2008
What:
Shades: F21Cami: vintage, thrifted and alteredCardi: HK (for $7 I think…)Belt: thrifted Jeans: free from work, KaporalsShoes: TJMaxx??
Where:
Work, then METS v BRAVES!
Why:
As far as trends go- the boyfriend jean has been around for a while, although after seeing it on Katie Holmes and Posh Spice (actually wearing boy jeans), I thought I’d give it a whirl.  These are just an old pair that are two sizes too big that I rolled up at the hem. I really tried to peg leg them, because bringing back the peg roll would be awesome.  Fashion rolls over and over on itself and skinny jeans used to be called tapered pants and everyone was like “oh no! never again!” but, I digress. Anyways, its been chilly in the evenings so I’ve paired a little cardigan over a vintage cami and thrown on heels (to make the look more femme) and a necklace.
