Scarf: vintage, thrifted in London
Cardigan: HK
Jeans: Mango
Belt: Goodwill
Boots: vintage, thrifted

Where:

Brunch, shopping, drinks, dinner in Manhattan

Why:

Ahh! It was one of those mornings that I wanted to wear something really great, and ended up having to just run out the door. I’m happy with how this 70s inspired look turned out. I’m going to try to wear scarves more often and I love how this one pulled the entire look together.

What:

Sweater: Alpaca Peruvian Sweater, gift from J
Blouse: Penguin
Belt: Lucky Brand (free)
Skirt: free from work
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Banana

Where:

Office

Why:

On Friday, one of my very best friends stopped by NYC after a 2 week trip to Peru.  He was super thoughtful and brought me back this beautiful alpaca sweater. This is the second time I’ve worn it since then! I love it. The rich earthtones are keeping me happy and warm. I’m wearing it with a plaid skirt (totally clashing! mwahahah!) in the same color story. I wanted the sweater to be the highlight so I went monotone on the tights and boots. I also have a shot of my coat and scarf in there. Its a vintage piece that had a fur collar (I took that off).

Wearing a new outfit always makes me happy. Even happier that I will always think of my friend each time I wear the sweater. Happy Monday.

WhatIWore: Sneak Peak

Every night before I go to bed I like to have an idea of what I’ll be throwing together the next day. Sometimes I lay things out or maybe just keep it in my head. I guess the same way a cook might peek in her cabinets to see what she’ll throw together for dinner.  Here’s a little sneaky peak at some of my ideas for this week. I know the jacket-less days with tights are running out, so I’ve planned 3/5 outfits of skirts/dresses.  Then there’s just other newish stuff I feel like pulling out.  As for repeating— I’ve got no shame when it comes to wearing something I love. Over and over and over again.  Or until it doesn’t make me feel as special as it did before.

My question for you— whether you’re into fashion or not- do you have a plan when it comes to those precious moments between rise and shine and off to the office? Lay something out or just throw on what’s clean (or not?).

WhatIWore:Shopping

Back in August, I posted about Love Story inspired fashion and added a navy peacoat to my fall wish list.  Originally, I wanted an actual military peacoat, but found they are really made more for function than flattery.  Today, I found THIS amazing shortened navy peacoat at Target.  Bonus- found out it was on sale (at the register) for $35.  Will be a great piece for autumn layering.
