WhatIWore: Ya know how they say pregnant women get a glow (and thicker hair and stronger nails)? I’m not feeling those effects so much yet and as I mentioned in Tuesday’s post, I’ve had some pretty big hills and valleys in the self esteem department. Right now though, I actually have something I’m pretty excited to talk about!
WhatIWore: I’m all about the change in seasons and I love pulling out my brights, stripes and pastels each spring. Unfortunately, I’ve been stuck in a bit of a makeup rut. I always like to even out my skin tone a little, but as far as color, I’ve just done a little brown eyeliner, the same pink blush for the past four years and a rotation of lipsticks. On date nights I might play around with eyeshadow, but lately they’ve all been lost or smashed in my makeup bag. In short - I need a new look.
I was planning a spring makeup post when ELLE and Revlon came knocking asking if I’d try out the PS (Personal Style) Experience. PERFECT TIMING! In essence, you direct your own video and the result is a “Style Personality” inspiration for your own new make up look. Every time you play around with it, the result could change. On my first try, my result was EDGY and Mod, but I kept changing up my answers so I could see all of the inspirations. You can try on the Revlon facebook page here.
Because Revlon products are affordable (I paid for all of the Revlon products seen here myself) there’s not a lot of risk in buying a color you may only wear once and a while for special occasions. I’m more likely to play around with lipstick and blush each day than dramatic eye looks, but there’s a time and a place for everything! I’ve always loved a cat eye, but to make it more edgy we added the bold white base, crease contouring, lots of thick black liner and those fabulous falsies. Definitely a step outside of my normal routine.
I worked with my friend and makeup artist Heather Parish to create four different looks. Each week we’ll post a step by step tutorial on how to update your own Spring makeup using a different inspiration.

WhatIWore: Many of you have asked about the red lips I’ve been sporting, so here’s something I posted earlier this summer. Guidance was generously provided by skin care and makeup expert, Jennifer Besler.
