Why:
On Friday, one of my very best friends stopped by NYC after a 2 week trip to Peru. He was super thoughtful and brought me back this beautiful alpaca sweater. This is the second time I’ve worn it since then! I love it. The rich earthtones are keeping me happy and warm. I’m wearing it with a plaid skirt (totally clashing! mwahahah!) in the same color story. I wanted the sweater to be the highlight so I went monotone on the tights and boots. I also have a shot of my coat and scarf in there. Its a vintage piece that had a fur collar (I took that off).
Wearing a new outfit always makes me happy. Even happier that I will always think of my friend each time I wear the sweater. Happy Monday.
Dear Vogue
I was shocked to read the advice given by Ms. Exeter to young women facing the current economic recession in her monthly column. The first example given was of a women that changed the gold band on her Cartier watch to white alligator. Then she quotes “…it became a new watch for a fraction of the price.”
Seriously, Vogue? Is that the best advice you can give to women earning below $50,000 a year (and spending 15K of it on rent)? The band on that new watch is probably my entire budget for fall clothes.
It is no secret that you highlight luxury products, but this advice is tacky elitism at best. You’ve got to be kidding me.
Sincerely,
Jessica
