What I Wore:
When:
August 26, 2008
What:
Shades: Beacon’s
Scarf: vintage, from my mom
Dress: Target
Flats: Target
Where:
office
Why:
These transition weeks between summer and fall are a little hard for me. Luckily, this little black dress (really a last resort dress) works whenever I can’t figure anything out. Keeping it really minimal with no big jewelry and a summer scarf. Its always good to have one dress/look in the back of your closet (probably something simple) that you can throw on when you really don’t care but still want to be polished. I used to wear this dress twice a week.

What:
Shades: vintage, thrifted
Scarf: vintage, thrifted
Tee: vintage, thrifted

Why:
Every morning I wake up with some sort of agenda to getting ready. I think to myself what character I want/need to play for the day. Could be sexy, professional, fun, sporty, or in today’s case— Comfortable. I also feel very Three’s Company this morning too.
What I Wore:
When:
August 21, 2008

Cami: vintage, thrifted and altered
Cardi: HK (for $7 I think…)

Where:
Work, then METS v BRAVES!
Why:
As far as trends go- the boyfriend jean has been around for a while, although after seeing it on Katie Holmes and Posh Spice (actually wearing boy jeans), I thought I’d give it a whirl. These are just an old pair that are two sizes too big that I rolled up at the hem. I really tried to peg leg them, because bringing back the peg roll would be awesome. Fashion rolls over and over on itself and skinny jeans used to be called tapered pants and everyone was like “oh no! never again!” but, I digress. Anyways, its been chilly in the evenings so I’ve paired a little cardigan over a vintage cami and thrown on heels (to make the look more femme) and a necklace.

What I Wore
When:
August 19, 2008
What:
Shades: F21
Dress: vintage, thrifted, worn backwards and found at Beacon’s Closet
Bangle: Goodwill
Shoes: DSW
Where:
The Office, maybe drinks tonight
Why:
Last night I had this feeling “you need to go shopping” (judge me as you will) and so I took the train a stop further into Brooklyn and went to the Church of Thrift (aka Beacon’s Closet). I gave myself a $25 limit and an hour. I immediately spotted some cute woven grannie oxfords, but they were too small. While I was leaning all over the place to take them off, my hands fell on this dress and I could no longer focus on anything else. I’m wearing it backwards (because I like to show a little neck/collarbone) and paired it with a pile of pony tail on the top of my head and simple flats. I love this dress.
